IMAGINE is a not-for profit organization formed in memory of Danielle Boone, a young Shaker Heights mother who was murdered on Mother’s Day Weekend, 2005, in an act of domestic violence. IMAGINE strives to promote healthy relationships and interaction between adolescents and young adults; to encourage a positive union and forge a stronger family unit.

During October 2018, IMAGINE Institute presented a performance of ‘him’ read by Ginaya Willoughby. The original play ‘him’ is a dramatic monologue that imagines the posthumous thoughts of a young victim of domestic violence.

The Shaker Height Library 2019 Black History Month Program – Hoodie: Between Black and White written by Claudia Rankine was a. theatrical performance & community discussion directed by Monica Boone of IMAGINE Institute. Th production was inspired by the theme of the book on microaggressions.

This year, IMAGINE Institute will be doing a domestic violence program October 2019 at the Shaker Height Library.  The program will include a performance of ‘him’.  The original play ‘him’ is a dramatic monologue that imagines the posthumous thoughts of a young victim of domestic violence.  As well as, MYCOM teens read their own poems about domestic violence.
