Priorities

MyCom is a network committed to igniting positive futures for Greater Cleveland’s youth by CONNECTING them with community based quality programming and services to help them become young adults that are able to NAVIGATE and give back to their communities as PRODUCTIVE citizens. MyCom’s network helps parents and youth in Greater Cleveland navigate transition points in schooling and growth. The MyCom network strives to produce positive, data validated results, through effective communication, collaboration and relying on knowledge based experts, community advocates and youth voice and authentic engagement.

The core components of the MyCom Network are:

Network Lead Agencies contribute expertise, resources and administrative support to promote the core components of the network.

Out of School Time

Starting Point is the lead agency to develop the repository of services, identify gaps and barriers to services and provide technical assistance to programs and organizations.  A resource and referral service for after school and summer youth programs is now available to the public by calling 216-575-0061 or clicking here for the Out of School Time Program Locator for Cuyahoga County.

Advocacy

Voices for Ohio’s Children is the lead agency in the area of Advocacy. Voices works with various partners to provide MyCom with advocacy, media relations and training.  Voices provides opportunities for youth to learn about advocacy and interact with State and local legislators.

Youth Employment

Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) is the lead agency for Youth Employment. This component emphasizes summer employment, year-round employment, plus career development and exploration for youth ages 14-24. The Cleveland Foundation, County and City partners, businesses, and Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) have worked together to leverage dollars for summer youth employment.

Education

MyCom believes education is primary to our youth being successful.  The Intermediary works to engage local school districts around education and social emotional goals and priorities to make sure that programming being offered in each community supports district goals.
