Learn from our partners at the Cleveland Metropolitan School District this interactive session on strategies that you can use to support English Language Learners.

In this session, you will learn:
*To understand effective strategies that support language acquisition for English Learners.
*To support every English Learner to be engaged in their virtual classroom setting.
*To provide every English Learner with the opportunity to experience success.

Our presenter is Ms. Kathybel Ortiz.

Kathybel is a Program Administrator for the Multilingual Multicultural Department with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. She obtained her master’s degree from Cleveland State University and has been an educator for the past twenty years. She has serviced staff and students in various capacity as a science teacher, curriculum specialist, and school administrator.

She brings a plethora of research-based teaching strategies in working with English Language Learners, special education, and diverse students from various backgrounds in the urban classroom setting. During the spring CoVid 19 pandemic Ms. Ortiz has been instrumental in creating units to support remote learning for students and supporting teachers through virtual academic instruction. Ms. Ortiz has provided numerous professional development sessions centered on teaching instruction for ELL students with ESL strategies in the virtual classroom and using apps to enhance student engagement.
