Neighborhood Engagement

Youth Development is Community Development

We believe that youth development is community development.  When we, collectively, take the time to engage youth, work to build their strengths through education and opportunities our community will benefit and be a thriving place for all to live.

Neighborhoods who are part of the MyCom Network were selected through an application process. Applications that were selected demonstrated a strong partnership base, ability to bring different stakeholders to the table, and commitment to engaging youth voice.

Neighborhoods began their work through a community planning process engaging youth, community residents, out-of-school time providers, schools, businesses and government to create a Community Youth Development Plan. Implementation of the plan, evaluation, and the building of community partnerships is a continued process.

The MyCom Network currently includes 19 neighborhoods with 13 in the City of Cleveland and 6 in the surrounding suburbs with a total of over 200 network partners.

Neighborhoods meet on a regular basis to share information and push forward the work of their neighborhood plan.
