Catherine Madison joined MyCom while participating in the Youth Advocacy Network at Mt. Pleasant Community Zone at age 16. She attended the University of Toledo and graduated in Fall 2017 Cum Laude. She is now a Program Operations Coordinator for Lake Erie Ink: a writing space for youth. She loves what she does and being able to help youth.
“Being a part of MyCom helped transform my life. Through MyCom I had the opportunity to become a peer leader and explore college campuses. I was able to see life outside of Mt. Pleasant. Through MyCom I was able to network and find my passion in community work and non-profit work. Because of MyCom I became more focused and decided to attend college.”
MyCom will enact our mission with race and equality at the forefront of our work as we always have. We will use our thought-leadership, funding, advocacy, and network to redesign service delivery. Together we will rethink infrastructure and create solutions that eliminate access to healthcare, cyclical poverty, access to quality education, housing stability, and other barriers that have impacted black lives.
