The report details the Greater Cleveland youth development initiative’s activities and summarizes recent evaluations
Cleveland, OH – MyCom, a youth development network with a vision that all children and young adults in Greater Cleveland can access and engage in positive opportunities that allow then to become productive adults, has released its annual report detailing the 2023-2024 year. The report is available for download and on the MyCom website. The report celebrates MyCom’s growth from its 2006 founding following a Cleveland Foundation study finding a fragmented and uncoordinated area youth development system to current efforts combining youth development, professional development, occupational skills training, and violence prevention.
“MyCom has worked to connect services across systems and neighborhoods, supported the identification of the unique needs of youth in our neighborhoods, created broad-scale pilots addressing more global youth development challenges, and built partnerships at national and state agencies strengthening our ability to ensure our children are connected to quality programs and services,” said MyCom Chief Strategy Officer Kasey T. Morgan.
The MyCom Youth Development Network of Greater Cleveland is Cuyahoga County’s premier youth serving organization providing a network of resources aimed at creating healthy, safe and thriving communities. MyCom has developed community-based systems that position communities to achieve common goals through partnerships that increase authentic youth engagement and college and career readiness. With over 300 neighborhood service providers in 20 neighborhoods, providing services in the areas of Out of School Time, Quality Improvement, Neighborhood Planning, Youth Workforce Development and Youth Engagement, with an emphasis on Youth Voice.
MyCom will enact our mission with race and equality at the forefront of our work as we always have. We will use our thought-leadership, funding, advocacy, and network to redesign service delivery. Together we will rethink infrastructure and create solutions that eliminate access to healthcare, cyclical poverty, access to quality education, housing stability, and other barriers that have impacted black lives.
