Ysian Hassel is a Cleveland native, growing up in Shaker Heights. As a freshman at Shaker Heights High School, she joined the Shaker Heights Youth Council, and has been familiar with MyCom's partnerships and programming ever since.
Ysian went on to Cuyahoga Community College and is now MyCom's Youth Liaison and Logistics Coordinator. She excels at connecting youths and youth organizations to resources and opportunities and takes great pride in approaching her work with a youth's perspective in mind.
She also takes a primary role in Youth Connect 216, a program that works to identify young adults with high potential but not currently employed or enrolled in school and connecting them with employment and training opportunities.
MyCom will enact our mission with race and equality at the forefront of our work as we always have. We will use our thought-leadership, funding, advocacy, and network to redesign service delivery. Together we will rethink infrastructure and create solutions that eliminate access to healthcare, cyclical poverty, access to quality education, housing stability, and other barriers that have impacted black lives.
