MyCom's Monday Hi-Five for Every Hour Counts and their Powered By Youth Voice Initiative

August 5, 2024

Every Hour Counts is a coalition of citywide organizations that increases access to quality learning opportunities, particularly for underserved students.

The Every Hour Counts coalition represents longstanding partnerships with more than 1,400 schools, districts, and community based-organizations that provide quality after-school and summer programming. Every Hour Counts partners support initiatives that reach more than 500,000 students each year.

In 2022, Every Hour Counts, in partnership with Youthprise, launched the Powered by Youth Voice: Future Directions for Afterschool initiative, with support from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. Powered by Youth Voice empowers young people as co-creators and designers of solutions to issues impacting their peers and communities. Powered by Youth Voice offers meaningful opportunities for youth to transform programs and systems intended to serve them by engaging them in program design, data collection, grant distribution, policy and systems change, and more.
The “Powered by Youth Voice: Future Directions for Afterschool” survey was co-created by Informed Change, Hamai Consulting, and youth researchers with support from the Mott Foundation and in partnership with the Powered by Youth Voice: Future Directions for Afterschool initiative. Participants included 1,087 young people from 321 afterschool programs across the country.
