Rodney Thomas is the Principal of Northcoast Evaluation Services, LLC and a Senior Research Associate at the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University (Begun Center). He has over 30 years of experience managing community- and school-based evaluation projects.
At the Begun Center, he is responsible for coordinating multiple state, federal and Cuyahoga County-funded evaluations related to community reentry, mental health and substance abuse, police officer use of force, and crisis intervention training for law enforcement. Prior to working at the Begun Center, Mr. Thomas was a Senior Research Coordinator for National Health Promotion Associates in White Plains, New York, where he was responsible for directing national, multi-site research studies related to the LifeSkills Training prevention program.
Previous to that, Mr. Thomas managed multiple school-based evaluation projects at Metis Associates in New York City, working primarily with schools in Cleveland as well as the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
At Northcoast Evaluation Services, he has provided consultancy services to varied types of organizations including the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency, the Yale University Consultation Center, the United Black Fund of Greater Cleveland, the United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties, and the New Haven Public Schools.
